Well folks, what can I say about these posters that I ain’t already said… Some Black, Some Blue and Some Brown. All printed, signed, and stamped ready to be delivered to tomorrow nights show in St. Augustine at Cafe Eleven. Don’t go wastin lighting by missing one of these badass prints. All 19×25 inches printed on some sturdy 100 lb French Kraft Speckletone Deliciousness. If for some reason you can’t make it out to one of the shows or these things sell out before you get one, we should have some artist copies up on the site after the tour is over. Just do yourself a favor, if you have heard of Lucero, go see them live. If you haven’t heard of them, listen then go see them live. They are seriously one of my all time favorite bands and it has been a real pleasure getting to do work for them… Cause it’s One Shot of Women, One Shot of Work, One shot’s sweeter but both can hurt Just let it go, kid just let it go! – TRON | Luceromusic.com

Spitfire Wheels Apparel Design by Grease!

Grease just recently finished up a project with the nice folks over at Deluxe, for Spitfire Wheels. “Can’t tell you how stoked I am to be working on a brand that I grew up with. It’s the kind of design nugget I’ve clamber for. Big thanks to Andy Pitts for the opportunity… always great to work with talented people on cool projects” – Grease Keep an eye out for this puppy, and more in the spring of 2013. Hope you enjoy. – TRON!

LUCERO Florida Tour Poster by TRON!

For most people, getting to do one poster for one of you favorite bands would be enough for a lifetime. And we thought it would be too, but when we heard Lucero’s new album “Women & Work” and saw they were coming back for another Florida run… well, we just couldn’t resist. The new album is so amazing, we were blown away when we found out that we were asked to do a poster for the whole Florida Tour, not just one date. And after listening to the album with commentary from frontman Ben Nichols and getting a little more info about each track, I quickly grabbed a pencil and paper and a poster Idea was born.

On the title track, Ben says “One Shot of Women… One Shot of Work” referring to shots of some kind of delicious liquor. Well, we just modified that a bit and thought Dueling Pistols might convey that same idea in a little more southern fashion. Balancing your Women and Work while traveling great distances across America between both can feel a lot like a good ole fashion gun fight at times. And back then when it wasn’t working out (it never does) and neither side would concede, someone usually ended up on a wanted poster.

Much Thanks to Bart for making this happen and if your at one theses Floria Show Dates, make sure and pick one up as they are going to be a limited run that probably won’t last through the tour. If they do, we will have some up on our store as well! Stay tuned for some printed previews and if you can’t wait for us to post them here you can follow us on instagram/halftonedef for live updates and shenanigans! – TRON

The Everywhere Project – Tampa

Here’s a fun one Grease just finished up for Adrian Walsh’s Everywhere Project. Adrian has rounded up a heap of rad designers to spotlight different areas around the globe via luggage tags. If you haven’t taken a look yet, we definitely recommend checking out the site. Lot’s of great stuff up there already, and still many tags left to come. Big thanks to Adrian for for putting together such a fun collective, and for letting Grease have a crack at the Tampa tag!

On a side note, when Adrian is not taking time out to organize rad collectives, he is knocking out some pretty damn impressive design work. After you’re done checking out the Everywhere Project, swing over to Adrian’s personal site & be ready to be impressed. Solid work. – TRON

Don’t Panic Magazine – Poster Pack

Grease recently had the chance to do a bit of work for the Don’t Panic Magazine poster pack a while back.
“I had a heap ton of fun working on the project, but i’m not sure if the piece ever made it to the press. Either way, I love working in one color and it was completely worth the exercise.” – Grease (kendrick kidd)

If you happen to live in the UK & see this puppy floating around, please hit us up. We will gladly pay shipping if you can send a few copies our way! – TRON!

Springing The Blue’s – Pick Of Destiny!

So we recently got asked to make a t-shirt design that was for a local blues festival with the info in the shape of a guitar pick… which we did. But as it turns out, when it looks this nice on an actual pick you just gotta make it happen. We will keep you posted on where you might possibly be able to get your chord picking fingers on one of these sweet hand lettered, slap yo momma blue, picks of destiny! – TRON

Grease steps into the TYPE FIGHT ring!

:: DECISION UPDATE::
In possibly the closest fight ever, Kendrick squeaks past Mike to win by THREE votes, 363 to 360.

FIGHT… FIGHT… a type and a type! If the left W don’t win we all jump in. Haha. There’s nothing like a good ole school yard brawl to get the adrenaline flowin. Halftone Def’s very own Grease E. Monkey, aka Kendrick Kidd, aka THE BANANA HAMMER just squared off against a very fierce Mike Rogers in this weeks typography bout over at TYPEFIGHT.COM. This is gonna be a serious battle as Grease went with the “Float like a butterfly sting like bee” whimsical W that is full of tendrils, texture and flare. But his competitor Mike is coming with a bold as can be, one hit, one punch, hay maker swing that could land him the win or take him out early if he misses his swing because Grease is fast as lightning and his appose-able thumbs pack an extra punch. Although from the looks of it, I think Mr Rogers might be fighting a little on the dirty side taking an half-toned page straight out of our playbook and sending a hit right below the belt!

So take a time out and go to your corner and visit www.typefight.com to vote for Grease or I’m coming to your house to dump this bucket of mouth guard spit from Grease’s corner all over your head. – TRON
